Vladislav V. Semiglazov graduated from I.P. Pavlov Saint-Petersburg Medical Institute in 1993 (faculty of General Medicine) and became clinical resident at the Department of Oncology. After completing his residency training in 1995, he became a PhD student in the Department of Oncology. In April 1998, Dr. Semiglazov defended his thesis entitled “Efficacy of organ-sparing treatment in primary and metastatic bone cancer”. Between 1998 and 2002, he worked as assistant and then as associate Professor in the Department of Oncology, I.P. Pavlov First Saint-Petersburg State Medical University. In November 2003, he received the academic title of associate Professor. In November 2004, Dr. Semiglazov defended his doctoral thesis entitled “Clinical characteristics and treatment of non-invasive and minimal invasive forms of breast cancer”. In November 2005, he became the head of the Department of Oncology in I.P. Pavlov First Saint-Petersburg State Medical University.
V.V. Semiglazov has coauthored more than 200 research articles. Nine PhD/MD theses were successfully defended under his supervision. Dr. Semiglazov is a member of the editorial board of the journal “Problems in Oncology”, member of the academic council of I.P. Pavlov First Saint-Petersburg State Medical University, academic council of N.N. Petrov Research Institute of Oncology, thesis board of A.M. Granov Russian Research Center of Radiology and Surgical Technologies, Saint-Petersburg Scientific Society of Oncologists, Russian Society of Clinical Oncology, Russian Society of Breast Oncology, ASCO, ESMO, Attestation Commission for Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Russia in the North-Western Federal district, and deputy chairman of the task group No. 1 “Oncology and Regenerative Medicine” in the I.P. Pavlov First Saint-Petersburg State Medical University.
